This cute and cuddly creature is one that they’ll cherish for years to come, so naturally they’ll need to name it. When you make the suggestion, however, your child isn’t sure what to name their new friend.

• Use the bear’s color as inspiration. Let’s say that your bear is brown. You can either name the bear “brown” or think of other colors that are variations of brown, like “Cocoa”, “Chocolate”, “Tawny” or “Ginger.” This is a great starting point for naming your teddy bear.
• What’s the bear’s personality? This might sound a bit strange, but typically, you can tell what “personality” your little one has decided to give its new teddy bear based upon how they interact with it. You can definitely use this to come up with a vibrant name that accurately reflects the “persona” your little one created.
• When all else fails, choose a people name. Maybe your teddy bear looks like a Lucas, a Betty or a Sue. The possibilities are endless. Find the name that your little one responds the most to, and you’ll have successfully named your personalized teddy bear.
